Aqualand

Aqualand is the largest water park on the Costa del Sol, and a classic day out for families. We went in the middle of July 2025 with our daughters, and we had a good day. Not perfect, but good.

Our experience

The park is not huge when it comes to the number of attractions, but there is enough to keep you busy for a day. The girls enjoyed themselves from start to finish, and that is what counts. You can go for the big, fast slides or take it easier in the wave pool and the quieter areas.

The wave pool is a nice place to cool down between slides. There are also plenty of sunbeds and grassy areas to relax, and you can eat at the poolside eateries and cafes. A picnic area is available if you prefer to bring your own food and drinks.

The queues

The big catch is the waiting time. On a busy summer day we saw people queueing for up to an hour for a single slide. That is a lot of time to spend standing in line when you are wet and the sun is high.

Without a Speedy Pass, we would not recommend Aqualand on busy days, such as in summer. With one, the day is much more fun, because you spend your time on the slides instead of in line. Prices change often, so check the current options before you go.

The slides

Thrill seekers get their share: the park is known for the Boomerang, the Black Hole and the 22-metre vertical free-fall slide called Kamikaze. Niagara Lake and the large wave pool are there for a calmer moment. There are also three children's pools with plenty to do for the little ones.

Our verdict

A fun day for kids and teenagers, as long as you plan well. Go on a quieter day or take a Speedy Pass. Without one, the queues in summer can spoil much of the fun.
