Privacy
How Costa Notas handles personal data. Last updated 30 October 2026.
Who we are
Costa Notas is a personal guide kept by Ann and Frederik from their holiday home in Estepona, Spain. The site is at www.costanotas.com. For questions about privacy, use the contact form.
What this site is
This is a private, non-commercial list of places we like or want to visit. Mentions of restaurants, hotels, shops, beaches, parks or other businesses are editorial. We are not affiliated with them, we do not take commission for a mention, and a listing is not an endorsement by those places of us or of this site.
Data we collect
- Messages you send us. Name, email and the note on the contact form, so we can reply.
- Saved-list QR emails. If you ask us to email a printable QR for your saved places, we use the address only for that message and for basic abuse protection.
- Editor accounts. Ann and Frederik sign in to write drafts. That session is stored in a secure cookie on the device that signed in.
- Technical logs. Our host (Vercel) and database (Neon) keep short-lived server logs that may include IP addresses, needed to run and secure the site.
We do not sell personal data. We do not run third-party advertising or marketing trackers on this site today.
Cookies and local storage
Necessary storage keeps the site working (security checks such as Turnstile on some forms, editor login when you sign in, and remembering your cookie choice). Preference storage, only with your OK, keeps saved places, your home base for distance estimates, and dismissed on-page hints. You can change this any time via Cookie settings in the footer, or read more on this page.
How long we keep data
Contact messages and QR emails are kept only as long as we need to handle them and to stop abuse. Editor session cookies last up to 14 days. Preference storage stays on your device until you clear it or turn preferences off.
Your rights
If you are in the EU/EEA or UK you can ask us for access, correction, deletion or a restriction of processing of personal data we hold about you, and you can complain to your local data-protection authority. Write to us via the contact form.
Accuracy and third-party sites
Information on Costa Notas can be wrong, out of date or incomplete. Opening hours, prices, pins on the map and practical tips change. We are not responsible for loss or inconvenience from relying on this site. Links to other websites are outside our control; their privacy practices are theirs.
Copyright and takedown
We do not intend to infringe anyone's rights. If you believe content, a photo or a description on this site is wrong or should not be here, tell us through the contact form. We will look into it promptly and are ready to correct or remove material where that is the right thing to do.
